Expert Timber Restoration and Rot Repairs for Structural Integrity
Our experts diagnose, treat, and repair wet rot, dry rot and timber decay, restoring a building’s fabric, preventing further decay and protecting structural integrity. We deliver minimally invasive treatments and repair works to reinforce structures and restore unique features which can extend a building’s appeal, lifespan, and functionality.

- Providing insurance backed guarantees
Timber Rot Repairs and Structural Reinforcement
Working with building custodians and construction professionals, we deliver sympathetic, guaranteed rot repairs and structural restoration.
We work to identify and overcome the root causes of decay – managing moisture sources and temperatures by improving air circulation around timbers and upgrading weather proofing of roofs and facades.
We can also support with early detection and preventative treatments to reduce the risk of needing extensive treatments and repairs in the future.
Understanding the types of timber decay
- Wet rot – Deterioration caused by damp and fungi
- Dry rot – Decay caused by serpula lacrymans fungal attack, which can also affect masonry
- Insect attack – Including woodworm or beetle damage
- Structural timber issues - Deterioration of load-bearing members
Rot Repair and Timber Restoration Services

Rot Survey
Identifying the source of moisture, extent of rot breakout and recommending a proposed scope of treatments and repairs.

Moisture monitoring
Assessing prevailing air conditions

Timber replacement
Suitable for wet rot or dry rot causing the decay of structural and non-structural timber members and elements including roof and floor members, timber lintels, framing, windows, doors and other affected wood-based components. For historically significant joinery work, we provide like-for-like timber matching and sourcing and use traditional joinery techniques

Resin repair systems
Best for early-stage wet rot, localised decay, and treatment of decorative timbers, or dry rot found in historic timberwork. We employ epoxy consolidation to stabilise damaged timber, provide non-invasive structural strengthening, or deliver minimal intervention repairs

Emergency stabilisation
Necessary for extensive rot damage and where the stability of a building’s fabric is badly compromised. We deploy temporary structural support systems, moisture monitoring and control measures, and development and implementation of permanent treatment and repair solutions.

Preventive treatments
Ideal for new timbers. We undertake surface spraying and imposition of physical barriers between timber and exterior stone or masonry elements. Fungicidal and insecticidal applications, timber preservation systems, or moisture control solutions are also available.

Frequently Asked Questions
We carry out a full survey and moisture mapping to determine whether the issue is wet rot, dry rot, insect attack, or general timber deterioration. Accurate diagnosis is key to planning the right treatment and preventing further damage.
Yes. Where possible, we use splicing, traditional joinery, and like-for-like timber replacement to preserve original beams, joists, and frames. We also use resin systems for minimal intervention when full replacement isn’t necessary.
Wet rot occurs when timber is consistently damp, usually from leaks or poor ventilation. Dry rot is more aggressive, caused by fungal attack (serpula lacrymans), and can spread into masonry. Both require different treatment approaches.
Absolutely. We carry out conservation-appropriate timber repairs, document all works for compliance, and coordinate with conservation officers where needed. Our approach respects the building’s fabric and historical value.
Not typically. We aim for minimal intervention where possible. Whether using resin repairs, targeted timber replacement, or moisture control solutions, we plan works to avoid unnecessary disturbance to the property or structure.
We offer advice on ventilation, moisture control, and long-term timber care. Treatments can include fungicidal/insecticidal applications, physical barriers between timber and masonry, and maintenance plans tailored to the building type.
Yes. We provide maintenance schedules and expert advice to help protect and preserve stone features over time, particularly for buildings exposed to weathering or pollutants.
Yes. In addition to heritage restoration, we also provide stonemasonry for modern buildings, using traditional techniques to deliver beautiful and durable stone features that complement contemporary architecture.
